Assigment stage - create a rough outline and find a team

A project outline centers on the project's subject matter. It delineates the key areas, themes, and content that need to be addressed. This subject-centric approach provides a clear direction for in-depth exploration, research, and development, ensuring the project's thematic coherence and gives a team focus.

A project startup is the process of initiating a new project, which involves defining the scope, objectives, deliverables, stakeholders, and governance of the project. A project startup is so important because it can have a significant impact on the success or failure of the project. Some of the benefits of a project startup are:

  • It helps to align the project with the strategic goals and vision of the organization, ensuring that the project is relevant and valuable.
  • It helps to establish a clear and realistic project plan, which includes the scope, schedule, budget, quality, risks, and communication strategies.
  • It helps to secure the commitment and support of the project sponsor, the project team, and other key stakeholders, who are essential for the project execution and delivery.
  • It helps to create a positive and collaborative project culture, which fosters trust, communication, and innovation among the project team and stakeholders.
  • It helps to avoid or minimize potential problems and issues that may arise during the project lifecycle, such as scope creep, cost overrun, schedule delay, quality issues, and stakeholder conflicts.

Therefore, a project startup is a crucial step for any project, especially for startups, which are often faced with uncertainty, complexity, and limited resources. A project startup can help startups to achieve their project goals and objectives, and ultimately, their business success.

In de assignment stage you'll determine the context of the learning material that has to be developed. This is done by creating a fitting Title and contextual Keywords. Additional to further narrow the scope, you will define the Content Area and EQF levels concerned.

You will also define how the project is executed:

  • Solo - You will develop the material yourself and use EKFI's workflow and eductation model as a guide.
  • Group (international) - You want different views from different countries. Possible pitfalls will be language barriers and cultural differences in teaching, but can be very enriching.
  • Group (national) - You want different persononal or organisational views when developing learning material.
  • Group (incompany) - As a company you want to benefit from the workflow and educational model to ensure a thorough project walkthrough.

When you have chosen a Group and have saved, you will get the possibility to create a Team. When there are people available to help you co-develop the learning material you can send them an invitation. If they accept the invitation, they will see this project in their list of Material. In order to start communicating you need to have set the iniotial communication channel.
This is the next step you take. You go to Online collaboration to set the initial work instruction on you to collaborate. So you mention the platform, set the email addresses to be used etc.

After completing team creation and creating the initial work instructions you will start the first Project StartUp meeting (PSU) to get to know each other and set the first 5 meeting moments.
